Brooke's Week — A Quick Recap
A short read on the week that was, so nothing gets lost between competitions.
A good week. Practices plus mirror work at home, and her motions are starting to look sharp and on the count — hit and stuck instead of loose and late. The full-out performing is coming; she still pulls the energy back when she's tired or self-conscious.
- Motions — to-the-count drills in the mirror. Sharper and more on the beat than a month ago, which helps the whole team.
- Performing — full-out run-throughs. Bigger energy and facials in practice; still shrinks a little under pressure.
- The block — coach-led progressions, patiently. A little more confident on the skill each session.
The full-out run-through she nailed at the end of practice — sharp motions, big facials, selling every second. Same routine, but performed with fire instead of marked. That's the whole idea.
- Keep the mirror motion work daily — sharp and on the count.
- One full-out run-through every practice — energy, facials, no marking.
- Visualization before the next competition — perform it full-out in her head first.
- Patience on the block — let her coach lead it.
One thing to keep an eye on: are her motions sharp and on the count, or loose and late? Is she performing full-out or marking it? And is the block being worked with patience, not pressure? Those are the tell for everything else.
