A pull-from-anytime set, sorted by what it builds. Pick two or three per session — don't run them all.
Stick skills — both sides
Push and receive off a wall, alternating open and reverse stick, with the reverse count forced to match the open. The wall-ball of field hockey — the boring rep that separates players.
Coaching Cue
Cue: "Soft hands, low base — even counts."
Reverse stick only, controlling balls on the left side, stick flat and down, ball in front. A one-sided player is a solved problem for a good defender.
Coaching Cue
Cue: "Stick flat and down, ball in front — don't cheat back."
Reverse-Stick Hitting and Passing
Receive on the reverse, then play a reverse push or hit to a target. Turns being forced left from a dead end into an outlet.
Coaching Cue
Cue: "Receive it, then play it — the reverse is an outlet."
Lead to the ball and take the first touch into space on the move, both sides. Collapses three beats into one — receive to move.
Coaching Cue
Cue: "Lead to it, first touch into space."
Read the field before the ball arrives — a parent signals a direction she has to read and play. Trains anticipating the switch, not reacting to it.
Coaching Cue
Cue: "Look before it comes — read the switch early."
Building a session: wall work to warm up both sides, a reverse-stick block, a receiving-on-the-move block, and a both-sides flow to close. Rotate which leads so no part of her game goes stale.
